Samsung April Update – Office 365 Access Issues (WebView Fix)

Over the last week, I’ve seen multiple reports of Samsung phones being unable to access Microsoft 365 / Office 365 resources — most often a phone simply not receiving email or unable to access Teams and SharePoint.

This is tied to a Samsung update released in early April which impacts Android System WebView.

I’ve posted the fix a number of times, so putting it here for reference.

Fix

  1. Close all apps
  2. Go to Settings → Apps
  3. Find Android System WebView
  4. Use the 3-dot menu (top right) → Uninstall updates
  5. Reboot the phone

After reboot:

Go back to Settings → Apps → Android System WebView
Install any pending updates

If you cannot see WebView in Apps:

  1. Go to Settings → Google
  2. Select All Services
  3. Then System Services
  4. Locate Android System WebView and update it there

Reboot the phone again

You should now be able to access Microsoft 365 resources normally.

This is not a tenant or Conditional Access issue — it is entirely client-side
