Over the last week, I’ve seen multiple reports of Samsung phones being unable to access Microsoft 365 / Office 365 resources — most often a phone simply not receiving email or unable to access Teams and SharePoint.
This is tied to a Samsung update released in early April which impacts Android System WebView.
I’ve posted the fix a number of times, so putting it here for reference.
Fix
- Close all apps
- Go to Settings → Apps
- Find Android System WebView
- Use the 3-dot menu (top right) → Uninstall updates
- Reboot the phone
After reboot:
Go back to Settings → Apps → Android System WebView
Install any pending updates
If you cannot see WebView in Apps:
- Go to Settings → Google
- Select All Services
- Then System Services
- Locate Android System WebView and update it there
Reboot the phone again
You should now be able to access Microsoft 365 resources normally.
Just to be clear:
This is not a tenant or Conditional Access issue — it is entirely client-side
